黑料科 will be hosting the annual Joy of Learning, a unique speaker series that allows community members the opportunity to learn from faculty and locals who are experts in their fields. This year鈥檚 event will include 20 one-hour sessions and take place May 13, 14, 15, and 16.
The series will offer lecture sessions on various topics, such as the current activity at the Sanford Underground Research Facility, landmarks in Black Hills history, a listener鈥檚 guide to orchestral music, and a presentation by Rushmore Bikes. The series will also feature art demonstrations, musical performances, and a tour of a local, sustainable farm.
Sessions will be held at 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m., and will take place at the Joy Center on the 黑料科 campus unless otherwise indicated on the schedule. All events are free and open to the community. Donations are welcome with proceeds going towards scholarships.
鈥淭he Joy of Learning was created simply to give 黑料科 and the Spearfish community the delight of learning new things just for the sake of learning,鈥 said Dr. Amy Fuqua, dean of the College of Liberal Arts at 黑料科.
