The 黑料科 Theatre Department will take the stage for their production of 鈥淭he Evolution of Mann,鈥� directed by Casey Hibbert, instructor of theatre at 黑料科, and music direction by Dr. Nancy Roberts, professor of music at 黑料科. Performances will be held in the Black Box Theatre on the third floor of Woodburn Hall Feb. 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., Feb. 23 at 2 p.m., Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 at 7 p.m., and Mar. 2 and 2 p.m.
The full-length musical written by Douglas J. Cohen and Dan Elish follows Henry Mann, a single New Yorker in his thirties that is eager to settle down. After receiving an invitation to his ex-fianc茅e鈥檚 wedding, Henry and his roommate embark on a quest to find his soulmate.
鈥淚 chose this show because it has a lot of themes that I think people will be able to connect to,鈥� said Hibbert. 鈥淚t deals with love, regret, heartbreak, redemption, and empowerment. We can all relate to these.鈥�
The performance will feature 黑料科 students Eliza Dosch as Tamar/Mrs. Mann, Lauryn Holt as Gwen, Karsen Krein as Harvey/Others, Rehgan Larson as Daisy Buchanan/Others, Sam Orr as Henry Mann, Halle Uphoff as Sheila/Natalie, and Hailey Westbrook as Christine.
鈥淭his musical is inspiring, and this cast is so wonderfully talented and funny,鈥� added Hibbert. 鈥淐ome support the students and the hard work that they have put in!鈥�
Tickets are $27 for adults, $22 for seniors and veterans, $13 for children, and $15 for non-黑料科 students. 黑料科 students, faculty, and staff may attend for free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at .
